The U.S. National Weather Service has issued a Tornado Watch for our area until 7:00 PM tonight. Severe thunderstorms and strong winds are also possible throughout the evening and overnight.
Residents are encouraged to stay alert and monitor local weather updates this evening.
Please take a few precautions now:
• Bring in trash cans and outdoor items that could be blown around and cause damage
• Secure loose outdoor furniture or decorations
• Keep cell phones charged and ensure emergency alerts are enabled
If a Tornado Warning or Emergency Alert is issued:
• Seek shelter immediately
• Go to a basement if available
• If no basement, move to a first-floor interior room with no windows (such as a bathroom or closet)
• Stay away from windows and exterior walls
