Skippack Township is inviting residents and families to celebrate the official opening of the new inclusive playground at Palmer Park during a Grand Opening and Ribbon Cutting Ceremony on Friday, May 15 at 4:30 p.m.
The community celebration will feature a traditional ribbon-cutting ceremony, music, giveaways, and free water ice for attendees as families gather to explore the Township’s newest recreational destination.
Designed in partnership with Recreation Resource and featuring Burke’s inclusive play equipment, the new playground was created to provide an engaging, accessible, and welcoming environment for children and families of all abilities. The playground encourages inclusive play, intergenerational interaction, and sensory-rich experiences throughout the space.
Among the playground’s featured attractions is the Volta Inclusive Spinner, a ground-level accessible spinner designed to allow children of all abilities to play together. Additional features include the Konnection Swing, which allows adults and children to swing face-to-face to encourage interaction and shared experiences, and the Innova Rocking Bridge, which promotes teamwork, balance, coordination, and collaborative play.
The playground also includes Burke’s industry-exclusive 360 Loop 10’ Slide, designed with ergonomically placed handrails that help children with varying physical abilities independently access and enjoy the slide experience.
The completion of the new playground reflects Skippack Township’s continued commitment to creating inclusive recreational spaces that encourage connection, accessibility, and fun for the entire community.
The Grand Opening Celebration will take place at Palmer Park on Friday, May 15 beginning at 4:30 p.m. Community members, families, and local leaders are invited to attend and take part in the celebration.
