Your Paragraph Text (8)

Skippack Township is preparing for a significant winter storm that is now forecasted to bring at least 12 inches of snow — well above the 4-inch threshold that greatly impacts roadway conditions and snow removal operations.

To ensure the safety of our community and to assist our Public Works crews in clearing the roads as efficiently as possible, we are asking for the full cooperation of all residents.

🏢 Township Building Closure

Due to the severity of the storm and the need to focus all efforts on storm management and response, the Skippack Township Building will be closed tomorrow, Monday, February 23, 2026, for regular business operations. Township staff will be concentrating on storm response and public safety efforts.

🚗 Parking Restrictions – No Vehicles on Roadways

With snowfall expected to exceed 12 inches, we are requesting that no vehicles be parked on any Township roadways.

All vehicles should be parked in driveways or alternate off-street locations. Keeping roads clear of parked vehicles allows plow trucks to safely and effectively remove snow from curb to curb. Vehicles left on the street significantly hinder snow removal efforts and delay access for emergency responders.

🏀 Remove Basketball Nets from Curb Lines

Residents with basketball nets positioned at or along the curb line are requested to remove them and place them fully onto personal property prior to the storm.

Basketball nets create a serious hazard for snowplow operators. In blizzard or whiteout conditions, visibility is reduced, making these obstacles difficult to see. Nets can become entangled in plow equipment, potentially damaging vehicles and delaying snow clearing operations.

🚨 Snow Removal Priorities

We respectfully ask for your patience during this storm. Township crews will prioritize:

  1. Primary roads and main thoroughfares

  2. Emergency response access routes

  3. Secondary roads and neighborhood streets

Neighborhoods will be addressed after main roads are safely passable. Our crews will be working continuously to restore safe travel conditions throughout the Township.

Your understanding, patience, and cooperation with these guidelines will help protect our residents, assist emergency services, and support a faster and safer storm recovery for everyone.

Thank you for working together to keep Skippack Township safe during this winter storm.

Please stay safe and stay warm.
