Stormwater Management

Skippack Township is a Small Municipal Separate Storm Sewer System (MS4) established under Pennsylvania’s Department of Environmental Protections (PADEP) National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (NPDES) General Permit regulations. Under these permit regulations the Township was required to develop and promote a Storm Water Management program. The program must address six best management objectives or Minimum Control Measures (MCM’s):

  • Public Education & Outreach
  • Public Participation & Involvement
  • Illicit Discharge Detection & Elimination
  • Construction Site Runoff Control
  • Post-construction Storm Water Management in New Development & Redevelopment
  • Pollution Prevention & Good Housekeeping for Municipal Operations & Maintenance
