The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) has announced that bridge construction will continue on Route 73 (Skippack Pike) as part of the $7 million project to replace the bridge carrying Skippack Pike over Skippack Creek in Skippack Township.
Upcoming Travel Restriction
Drivers should be aware of the following scheduled restriction:
Monday, August 31, and Tuesday, September 1, from 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM, a lane closure with flagging will be in place on Route 73 (Skippack Pike) between Old Forty Foot Road/Evansburg Road and Kerr Road.
Motorists are encouraged to allow extra travel time when traveling through the work area, as backups and delays may occur. All scheduled construction activities are weather dependent.
About the Bridge Replacement Project
The project will replace the existing 90-year-old, two-span reinforced concrete T-beam bridge with a new single-span, reinforced concrete PA Bulb-tee bridge.
The new bridge will measure approximately 104 feet long and 52 feet wide and will carry two 12-foot travel lanes and 8-foot shoulders.
